Dr. Jeff Godin

Ph.D.

Dr. Jeff Godin is currently Department Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science at Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts. In 2002, Dr. Godin completed work with his department in developing the Exercise and Sport Science Major. Successful graduates have gone on to continue their careers as strength and conditioning coaches for professional and intercollegiate teams. Prior to taking on the Department Chair duties at the college, Dr. Godin also served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Fitness Director. He continues to work closely with the athletic department. Dr. Godin’s students regularly test, design, and implement training and conditioning programs for all men’s and women’s intercollegiate and club teams.

Dr. Godin teaches courses in Scientific Principles of Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Metabolism, Nutrition in Exercise and Sport, and Exercise Testing and Prescription. He is currently developing a Sport Science Coach Graduate Certificate at the college.

Dr. Godin received his Doctorate in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut, and has earned certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the International Society for Sports Nutrition. Dr. Godin continues to conduct workshops preparing candidates for professional certifications from these organizations and provides CEC’s for certified coaches and trainers. In addition to his full time academic responsibilities, Dr. Godin is the Director of Human Performance for Blackstone Valley Human Performance where he coaches aspiring endurance athletes.
