Achieving Excellence in Collegiate Strength and Conditioning

Presentation Summary:
Hosted by NCAA Leadership Development and the NCAA Sport Science Institute, this session will help collegiate strength and conditioning coaches achieve excellence within the profession. This session will discuss relevant issues for strength and conditioning coaches including current perceptions and personal branding; career advancement; effective communication within the athletic department; and transitioning to athletics administration.

Biography:
Curtis J. Hollomon currently serves as the director of leadership development at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. His primary duties include development and implementation of broadly defined skill enhancement, professional development and career advancement programs, grants and workshops for student-athletes, coaches and athletics professionals, along with assisting the executive vice president/chief inclusion with strategic planning in the area of programming.
Before coming to the NCAA in March of 2005, Hollomon served as assistant athletics director for operations and development with the St. Cloud State University (SCSU) athletic department where he also received his master’s in sports administration. Prior to his duties at SCSU, Hollomon served as assistant to the directors at the Georgia Tech Athletic Association. A 1999 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Hollomon was a three-year letterman in football and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in history, technology, and society.
