Rob Glass
Rob Glass joined the University of Florida staff in March of 1995 as the coordinator of strength and conditioning. He was promoted to the director of strength and conditioning in December of 1998. Prior to that, he was the head strength and conditioning coach at Oklahoma State for 6 years. He was a football graduate assistant there 2 years prior to that.
Coach Glass has worked with 2 Heisman Trophy winners, a Golden Spikes Award recipient, a Thorpe Award winner, 3 Jacob’s Blocking Trophy recipients and countless All-American and All-Conference Honorees in countless sports at UF and OSU. In 1996, Florida’s football program won the National Championship. During his tenure, the Gators have made 6 straight January Bowl appearances, and have won 3 SEC Championships in football. While strength coach for Oklahoma State, the wrestling team won back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990. The Oklahoma State Cowboys made 5 college world series appearances and the basketball team reached the 1995 Final Four. Coach Glass worked with the U.S. Olympic Wrestling team, which trains annually in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He also worked with track star, Dennis Mitchell, as he prepared for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. In addition, Rob has worked with 15 players, taken in the first round in the NFL draft, 6 players taken in the first round of the NBA draft, and 4 players taken in the first round of the MLB.
In 1994, Coach Glass was named the 1994 Big Eight Conference Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. He is married to the former Laurie Lypc. They have 2 children: Garrison (6), and Jared (3).
