CSCCa releases Drug Position Statement

Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association
Drug Position Statement:

"The Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa) is against the use of all illegal drugs, anabolic steroids, and the misuse and abuse of legal prescription and non-prescription drugs.

In accordance with the NCAA, established Olympic protocols, and university and college athletic policies, we support the approach provided by the science of training in maximizing athletic performance as found in sound education, safe and effective coaching, and concern for overall health through proper rest and nutrition.

Coaches and athletes should support education and ongoing research and development to advance safe and appropriate methods of testing, teaching, and educating student athletes in all areas of health and physical and mental development. As part of this educational process, the CSCCa endorses drug and supplement testing, which not only provides our student athletes with a level playing field/court, but most importantly, assists in maintaining optimal health and well-being.

This organization believes in and supports proper nutrition, hard work, and discipline as fundamentals in practice, fair play, and performance. Finally, we believe in proper exercise prescription, under the direction of qualified and certified strength and conditioning coaches, to oversee and implement safe and effective training.
