Northern Arizona University--Paid Internship Posted 6/19/08 - 8/19/08
The Northern Arizona University Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Paid Intern for the Fall semester. The successful candidate will be required to work irregular hours and weekends with the strength & conditioning department. The program is designed for the post bachelor professional looking for experience.
The daily responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs
- Teaching student athletes proper techniques and equipment use
- Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities
- Participation in weekly projects and assignments throughout the internship program
Compensation: This is a temporary position without expectation of continued employment. This position will pay $325 per month with no benefits or relocation assistance. Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities is also provided.
Time Line of Internship: August 1, 2008, through December 14, 2008.
Qualifications: Must have a strong work-ethic, high levels of energy and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and a certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW.
Previous experience as a strength coach and/or a sports performance trainer is preferred.

Manhattanville College -Strength & Conditioning Internship Posted 5/14/08 - 7/14/08
Responsibilities:
Assist the strength and conditioning staff in the day-to-day operations of the Manhattanville College varsity weight room. Duties will include but are not limited to: assisting with the implementation of all strength and conditioning programs for the 17 varsity sport and assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
Available: Fall semester deadline is August 1st and the spring semester deadline is December 15.
Note: This is a non-paid position – only college credit available.
Requirements:
Pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree in exercise science or a related field. Have a strong desire in becoming a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS and/or CSCCa. Manhattanville College is an AA/EOE. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
