Dave Plettl
Coach Dave Plettl has been a Strength Coach since 1987, starting at the University of Colorado, as a student assistant. He then became a graduate assistant in 1991 before going full-time in 1993. Dave then went to the University of Texas in 1998, and was there three years before taking the assistant’s job at Florida State in the fall of 2000. During the span of his career he has worked with Masters Strength Coaches Jeff Madden, Doc Kreis, Dave Van Halanger, and Jon Jost. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1991 from the University of Colorado in Political Science and History.
As an athlete he won the Colorado Bodybuilding Championship and was the Colorado State Champion and the Northern Regional Champion, as well as a National Qualifier in Olympic Weightlifting. In addition to being certified by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association, Dave also holds a Master of Sports Sciences certification from the International Sports Sciences Association.
In his coaching career, he has worked with National Championship Teams in Football, Skiing, and Track and Field. He has trained athletes from Heisman Trophy winners to Olympian Medallists. Dave is also the Co-Founder and President of Titus Sports Academy, a company started in 2001 that trains over 400 athletes of all sports, levels, and ages. He is married to the former Christa Miller, and they are the proud parents of two daughters—Lydia and Rebecca.
