Women's Basketball Strength & Conditioning

Developing world class talent is integral to the success of a team, and every institution has a different opinion of what “Greatness” is. The environment, culture and feedback is essential to this development. This group of panelists will share lessons from years of building teams and how they laid out their philosophies for success with some of the greatest female collegiate basketball players in the country.

Travis Illian was the head strength and conditioning coach for the University of Connecticut men's basketball program for four years. He was responsible for designing, organizing, and implementing individualized programs to meet each players specific needs including strength and conditioning, speed and agility, flexibility and recovery strategies. Travis has a passion for nutrition, bioenergetics, phytonutrients, posture, vibration, and the impact these have on training and success. Coach Illian was a part of the Huskies 2014 NCAA Championship. Previous to the University of Connecticut, Travis was a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Alabama working primarily with women's gymnastics under legendary coaches David and Sarah Patterson where he was an integral part of two SEC Championships and two consecutive NCAA Championships. Travis completed his Master's and Ph.D in Human Performance from the University of Alabama and did his undergraduate work at Texas Lutheran University.
