Head Strength and Conditioning Coach- University of Saint Francis (NAIA, Fort Wayne, IN)

This position will design, implement, and schedule strength and conditioning programs for all varsity athletic programs including football. Individual will be responsible for teaching proper weightlifting, speed, agility, flexibility, and conditioning techniques. When available, the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach will lead sport teams through pre-practice warm-ups. Encouraging and motivating student-athletes to train and perform to their utmost potential is essential for this position. Individual will be responsible for evaluating all student-athletes across a variety of performance metrics, keep a record of this information, and share these results with the head sport coaches.

The position will work closely, and schedule regular meetings with, the athletic training department and head sport coaches. This individual will also work with the on-campus exercise science department to develop an internship program.

Working in concert with the athletic training staff, and the Parkview Sports Medicine Sports Nutritionist and Mental Performance Coach, this position will work to educate student-athletes and coaches in areas such as nutrition, injury prevention, injury rehabilitation, mental health, and overall well-being.

This position will supervise weight room facilities in the Hutzell Athletic Center as well as the R. Bruce Dye Football Training Center. This position will help make regular checks of the facilities and be involved in ordering equipment and in the upkeep and evaluation of current equipment.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree, Master’s degree preferred

-CSCCa-SCCC and/or NSCA-CSCS Certification

Minimum of three years (3) related work experience

Qualifications:

-Demonstrated experience in administering a successful strength and conditioning program at the collegiate level

-Thorough knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.

-Must be proficient in the instruction, assessment, evaluation, and supervision of multiple weightlifting techniques

-Knowledge of use and maintenance of fitness equipment

-Must have a positive mental attitude and the ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, coaches, faculty, staff, and the community.

-Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Must be computer literate.

- Ability to work weekends and evenings is required. This position requires some travel and non-traditional hours.

- Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Pay will be $52,000-$57,000 with full benefits and a 3-5% raise every year.
