Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
-Assist the Director of Athletic Performance/Olympic Sports as assigned in creating a championship strength and conditioning training environment and culture for men’s and women’s sports.
-Assist the Director of Athletic Performance/Olympic Sports with the implementation of sport-specific programs based on peer-reviewed, evidence-based protocols to enhance the fitness, strength, power, and speed indices of the intercollegiate athletes in the assigned sport(s).
-Assist the Director of Athletic Performance /Olympic Sports in implementing a motivational environment within which athletes strive for consistent elite level performances.
-Assist with implementation of body-fat reduction/lean body mass enhancement strategies in accordance with sports medicine and dietetics staff.
-Work closely with sport coaches to monitor athlete performance readiness.
-Assist coaches in recruiting process.
-Collaborate with the Athletic Training staff regarding injury reduction and rehabilitation plans
-Collaborate with sport science department and further advance your ability to translate data for sport performance
-Collaborate with Sports Medicine and Dietetics staff.
-Enforce our standards, policies, and mission statement.
-Actively participate in interdepartmental staff meetings.
-Maintain all records and documentation concerning the student-athletes workouts.
-Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities as needed.
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-Bachelor Degree of Science required/ Master’s in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field preferred
-At least 2 years of professional experience or equivalent combination of professional experience and education preferred
-The following required certifications through one or both accredited strength and conditioning organizations must be maintained: the Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Association (CSCCa), and/or the Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA)
-Current first aid, CPR and AED certification
