Position Summary:
Southwest Baptist University, a Christ-centered academic community, is seeking a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position is ideal for a motivated individual pursuing a graduate degree who desires hands-on coaching experience while growing spiritually and professionally.
The Graduate Assistant will lead strength and conditioning programs for assigned varsity sports and assist with other teams as directed by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. SBU competes in NCAA Division II and supports 21 varsity teams as a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams, including strength training, speed/agility, mobility, and recovery.
Assist in training sessions for other varsity sports.
Instruct proper lifting technique and ensure safety in all training environments.
Collaborate with sport coaches, athletic trainers, and support staff.
Maintain records of workouts, testing data, and team performance.
Uphold university, NCAA, and GLVC standards.
Foster a positive, Christ-centered culture that emphasizes faith, discipline, and leadership.
Qualifications:
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Southwest Baptist University.
Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field.
National strength and conditioning certification (CSCS or SCCC) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Admission into a graduate program at Southwest Baptist University.
Compensation:
