Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for Women's Basketball at Auburn University

The MSCC Panel Discussion will address professional develop, and techniques for building team work, accountability and trust, it will also be an open forum for the audience to ask the panel questions.

Biography:

Greg Werner is currently the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for Women's Basketball at Auburn University. He previously spent 10 years as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at James Madison University. In addition to coaching at JMU, Werner was a faculty instructor for the Department of Kinesiology's Concepts of Strength & Conditioning course. Before JMU, Werner was an assistant and taught classes for one year at the University of the Pacific.

He received his MS in Exercise Science from James Madison and his BS in Human Performance from Austin Peay State University. Outside of the collegiate ranks, Coach Werner has worked with several NFL, MLB, NBA, MLS, and Olympic athletes. In 1999 Werner was selected the NSCA Colonial Athletic Association Professional of the Year. He has served as the Strength & Conditioning Specialist for the US Olympic Field Hockey team, has been an NSCA State Director, and has been an active speaker at numerous conferences, clinics, and camps. Coach Werner was inducted as a Master Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2006 and was voted to serve on the CSCCa's Board of Directors in 2011.

In addition to coaching and teaching, Werner has published over 25 strength and conditioning articles in various coaching journals and magazines. Werner is certified by the CSCCa, NSCA, ACSM, and ISMA.
