The Hips Don’t Lie: Deriving peak performance from horizontal force concepts

A look into the horizontal aspects of sport, how to develop the hips to increase performance and reduce injuries, and why focusing on hip mobility and strength can lead to huge gains in the overall development of your athletes.

Biography:

Cori Metzgar is in her 5th year as the Director of Sports Performance at Western Oregon University, where she oversees all 13 sports and works directly with Football, Throws, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball and Baseball. This past year WOU has had several huge athletic accomplishments that she is very proud of. Wide receiver Tyrell Williams signed with the San Diego Chargers and scored his first NFL touchdown against the Broncos, Football defeated then #6 University of North Alabama, and Men’s Basketball was ranked #1 in the nation for 4+ weeks and as this bio was written had advanced to the Elite 8.

She began her career as a G.A. at Western Michigan University and has since coached at Ohio State University, Colorado State University and Washington State University before taking her first Director position at WOU in 2011. Cori has also presented at the Lithuanian Olympic Swim Convention and the Nike Football Coach of the Year Clinic.
