Joey Davey

Performance Engineering in Basketball: Satisficing Solutions for a Complex Environment

Joey Davey is a Strength & Conditioning Coach and Sport Scientist with the Memphis Grizzlies. As a Strength & Conditioning Coach, he creates and implements physical preparation programs aimed to improve physical capacities and support skills and tactics. Specific to his role as a Sport Scientist, he develops and coordinates all player loading prescriptions with respect to player's current function and physical development targets; in addition to managing an in-house AMS that delivers data to all stakeholders. Before his current role, he was a Graduate Assistant and Assistant Sports Performance Coach at the University of Wyoming. He received his Bachelor's in Athletic Training from Xavier University and his Master's in Higher Education Administration from the University of Wyoming. He also gained strength and conditioning experience at Xavier University, Marquette University, and the University of Iowa. He holds his CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), SCCC from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), and ATC from the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).
