Data collection, analysis and framing the season as an experiment.

Gabe is a professor in exercise science and sports science researcher at Northern Kentucky University near Cincinnati, Ohio. As a researcher and sports scientist, Gabe’s research focus is to identify how daily workloads measured via wearable technology can be analyzed to assess periodization models, performance and fatigue. Gabe has consulted with professional sports organizations and division I programs that range from Power 5 to mid-major conferences. His goal is to help coaches frame their “season as an experiment,” which allows for coaches to proper analyze and interpret data collected throughout the season. Gabe has a published more than 45 peer-reviewed articles and his most recent publications report results from internal and external workload data that was collected throughout a full competitive season. Through his research and consulting, Gabe aims to help performance coaches better understand and implement methodologies for sound data collection throughout a competitive season, regardless of the sport.?In addition to his work with coaches and athletes, Gabe has worked as a primary investigator and consultant on multiple grant funded projects from the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other funding agencies to assess performance and health outcomes after energy drink ingestion and tactical athlete workloads.
