Matthew Parker

Assistant Strength Coach

Matt Parker is in his twelfth season at TCU and serves as the Assistant Director for Athletic Performance (strength and conditioning). He was hired by Master Strength Coach Don Sommer in 2004.

Coach Parker oversees and assists the athletic performance programs for TCU's Women's Tennis, Rifle and Football. During his time at TCU he has been a part of 5 football conference championships, an undefeated season 2010, 8 top 25 finishes, and 10 bowl appearances including The Rose Bowl, The Fiesta Bowl, and The Peach Bowl.

Prior to TCU, Parker spent five seasons at the University of Alabama, where as an assistant strength coach he helped develop Alabama's volleyball, baseball, and football teams. He was a part of the 1999 SEC Football Championship and The Orange Bowl.

Coach Parker started his professional career at Northeastern A&M College where he coached Strength and Conditioning and Defensive Line. During his two year stint he was a part of the 1998 Southwest Junior College Football Conference championship.

A starting defensive lineman at the University of Alabama Parker finished his collegiate paying career in 1995; he had a short stint in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers (1996) and the Denver Broncos in (1997).
