Gerard Green

Strength & Conditioning Coordinator

In 1998, Gerry became a certified strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and began training several of the Rider varsity athletic teams while serving as the director of the fitness center. Gerry also became certified from USA Weightlifting as a certified sports performance coach.
In the fall of 2005, Gerry became the first full-time strength and conditioning coordinator for the Rider University Department of Athletics. As the coordinator, Gerry oversees the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the majority of the NCAA Division I athletic teams at Rider University.
In 2010, after speaking with Dr. Chuck Stiggins, Gerry decided to pursue the SCCC certification through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association under the mentorship of Jason Gallucci at nearby Princeton University.
Gerry has been blessed to have had the opportunity to work with great sport coaches, strength coaches, athletic training staff, a supportive athletics administration, and terrific student-athletes. Over the years, it has been his great pleasure to be connected in the lives of student-athletes who have gone on to continue their athletics careers after college, as well as with those who went into other ventures. He is most proud of the great character that they have displayed and their contribution to society
Gerry is very grateful to the many strength coaches over the years that have been willing to meet and share their experiences. To name a few, Bob Medina, Charles Stephenson, Lon Record, Rob Taylor, Jason Dierking, Michelle Martin Diltz and Mike Schroeder.
Gerry graduated from West Chester University in 1981 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. As a student-athlete, Gerry played soccer and competed in track. He received a Master's of Business Administration from Rider University in 1994.
Over the years, Gerry has had the opportunity to publish articles and co-author a sport specific weight training book entitled "Winning Weight Training for Girls". He currently teaches a graduate level class in Strength and Conditioning at Rider.
He resides in Morrisville, Pa. with his wife Melody. He has two sons Gerry Jr. and Timothy, and a daughter Kaitlyn.
