MSCC Class of 2014

Kent Morgan

Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

Kent's love for strength and conditioning began in high school as he prepared to play football and baseball and earn a college scholarship. He implemented various training methods through trial and error, until he reached Sam Houston State where he had the opportunity to train under Ben Pollard. Pollard taught and demonstrated the science, art, and passion required to become a successful strength and conditioning professional.

Morgan began his career as a full-time assistant at Texas Christian University in the summer of 1999. At TCU, he assisted with football and directed multiple Olympic sports. Texas A&M was the next stop for Kent where he served as an assistant for the Aggie football team and directed the strength and conditioning program for the lady Aggie golf team.

Kent just wrapped up his fifth year as the Director of Sports Performance at the University of West Florida in Pensacola where he supervises the overall direction of the strength and conditioning program for all 16 varsity sports. Morgan is the first ever full-time strength and conditioning coach at UWF.

Coach Morgan is privileged to have been influenced and guided by three legends in the industry: Ben Pollard, Don Sommer, and Rod Cole. Kent would also be remiss if he did not thank the numerous athletes, coaches, and assistants he has had the pleasure to work with and learn from for the past 16 years.
