Sean is currently an assistant strength coach at the University of Akron. His man duties are working with football and Golf. He has coached multiple All-MAC selections during his time at Akron.
Prior to the University of Akron, Sean spent 6 seasons with the Syracuse University football team. Sean served as the 2nd assistant coach for 3 seasons and then moved up to the 1st assistant spot for the last 3 seasons in upstate New York. He worked with multiple NFL players and All-ACC selections during his time at Syracuse. While at Syracuse the team went to three bowl games and won the 2018 Camping World Bowl and finished the season with a 10-3 record.
Before Syracuse, Sean was the head strength and conditioning coach for the University of Central Missouri. He spent almost 7 years at UCM overseeing the strength and conditioning department and coaching numerous All-Conference and All-American athletes, highlighted by the 2014 Men’s Basketball and the 2017 Women’s Soccer National Championship. Coach Teter grew the strength and conditioning department from a single coach and one graduate assistant that only worked with a couple of teams into a staff that programmed for every team except track and field. The staff consisted of two full-time coaches, two graduate assistants, and a steady flow of interns from the exercise department on campus.
Sean was a two-year letterman in football for Butler Community College before earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas. He then got his Master’s degree from the University of Central Missouri.
Sean lives in Cuyahoga Falls with his wife Amanda, and their two children, son - Everett and daughter - Imogene.
