Nick Zostautas

Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

Nick Zostautas received his Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in Health and Exercise Science in 2001, where he was a hammer thrower on the Track and Field team. During this time he served as an intern at Colorado State University, Northwestern University, and with the Colorado Avalanche for the 2001 Stanley Cup Champions.

Following graduation, Zostautas began working as a Graduate Assistant Strength Coach at the University of North Dakota, under Master Strength Coach Paul Chapman, where he earned his Master's Degree in Kinesiology. At UND Zostautas worked with Track and Field, Softball, Cross Country, and assisted with Men's Hocke,y as well as Football which won a Division II National Championship.

Nick then returned to serve as Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at Northwestern University under Larry Lilja from 2002-2008. While at NU, he was directly responsible for Wrestling, Baseball, Men's Soccer, and Men's Tennis, while assisting Lilja with Football.

Zostautas is currently the Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he has worked for the past 13 years. At UIC, he oversees the development for all 19 teams and works directly with Baseball, Softball, Men's Soccer, Women's Tennis and Men's Tennis. He became Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified in 2013.

Coach Zostautas would like to thank all the coaches he has worked under and for, especially Paul Chapman, Larry Lilja, Brian Bedard, Brian Kopecky and Paul Goldberg, as well as all his current and former assistants.
