Brandon Roberts

Director of Olympic Sports Performance

Brandon Roberts was promoted to Director of Olympic Sports Performance in January 2020. The certified Master Strength Coach now oversees all 19 Olympic Varsity sports and works directly with baseball along with overseeing the Sports Science position and his staff of 6 coaches.

Robets joined USF Athletics as Associate Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in January of 2017. Roberts works with the USF football and baseball programs and other sports as assigned. He designs and implements overall strength and conditioning programs, off-season speed and agility programs, and oversees the budget and inventory of weight room supplies. Roberts worked with Shane McClanahan (1st Round), Kevin Merrell (1st Round), Carson Ragsdale (4th Round), Andrew Perez (8th Round), along with 9 other MLB draft picks from USF.

Roberts came to USF from the University of Texas, where he worked with the football program for three seasons (2014-2016). While at Texas, he worked with NFL Draft first-round pick Malcolm Brown.

Roberts also worked at the University of Louisville (2010-2014). At Louisville, Roberts worked with the football (2010-14), baseball (2013-14) and track and field programs (2013-14). He worked to design and implement over strength and conditioning programs, speed and agility programs and mobility and prehabilitation programs. While at Louisville, Roberts worked with NFL Draft picks Teddy Bridgewater (1st round), Calvin Pryor (1st round), Marcus Smith (1st round) and Preston Brown (3rdround), Johnny Patrick (3rd round), Bilal Powell (4th round), Byron Stingily (6th round) and Greg Scruggs (7th round) along with.

Roberts began his career as assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Florida (2009-10), where he worked with the football program. He worked with eight Gators taken in the NFL Draft, including first-round picks Tim Tebow (2009), Joe Haden (2009), Maurkice Pouncey (2009) and Percy Harvin (2008).

Roberts graduated from Middle Tennessee State with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology in 2009. In 2023, he earned "Master Strength Coach" distinction from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA). He is SCCC certified through the CSCCA and NASE certified through the National Association of Speed and Explosion. He also earned Heartsaver CPR AED certification through the American Heart Association and Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) certification through Owens Recovery Science.

A native of Millington, Tenn., Roberts was a defensive lineman on the Blue Raiders’ football team where he made the Sun Belt Conference Commissioners List for academics in 2006 and 2007.

Brandon and his wife, the former Anna Capi, have a son, Landon.
