Zach Margolis

Zach Margolis joined the Washington State Athletics staff as head basketball performance coach in September 2019. Margolis will work directly with both men’s and women’s basketball programs at WSU in all facets of the teams’ physical development.

Margolis arrives at WSU having spent the past year as assistant athletic director of strength and conditioning at St. Mary’s College, directing all facets of performance development for the men’s basketball program. Margolis oversaw the strength and conditioning program for the Gaels' 16 Division I sports.

Margolis joined the Saint Mary's staff after spending the previous year at Wichita State as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. Prior to Wichita State, Margolis was the head strength and conditioning coach for Stanislaus State's 14 varsity sports.

Prior to Stanislaus State, Margolis was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Northern Colorado for five years before being promoted to director of sport performance for Olympic sports.

Margolis graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor of science in exercise science in May 2008. He then received his master's degree in May 2011 with an emphasis in sport science and nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin.

Margolis is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) in addition to certification through the CSCCA (Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association).
