James Carsey

Assistant AD Human Performance

James Carsey, Miami University's Assistant Athletic Director for Human Performance, has been named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa). The honor is the highest given in the strength and conditioning profession, and highlighted the organization's annual conference, held in Orlando in May.

"I want to thank the CSCCa certification committee for the recognition," said Carsey. "I also want to thank the countless student-ahletes, coaches and colleagues who have allowed me to work alongside them all these years in pursuit of championship success.

"I truly love what I do & feel very blessed to be working here at Miami, helping others chase their dreams."

Carsey, who earned degrees from Ashland University in 1997 (Bachelor's) and 2004 (Master's) returned to Miami in 2016 after previously serving on the RedHawks' staff from 2001-2011. He works with Miami's volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams.

Twenty-six collegiate strength & conditioning coaches received the prestigious MSCC certification at the event in May, bringing the total of Master Strength & Conditioning Coaches in the world to 310, including Miami alumnus Dan Dalrymple '88.
